After reading IA: Initiate and IA: B.O.S.S., I’ve been clamoring for the next chapter in the IA series by John Darryl Winston. My dreams have finally been answered with the brilliant finale to the series, IA: Union.
If you haven’t already got your kids started, now is the perfect time for them to discover the exciting tale of Naz as he struggles with bullies, gangs, and learning his super powers while surviving in a massive ghetto.
After years of struggle and the tragic death of his sister, Naz has finally escaped. He is attending International Academy far from the dangerous Exclave. This has been his dream for so many years. But now he knows that he needs to go back to find the truth.
Mid-way through the school year, he finally returns and attends Union High school. It is wonderful to see his old friends again. He even rekindles the romance with the mysterious girl D. But he is not back to be the basketball star this year. Instead, he focuses his time on finding his sister's killer.
But the stakes are raised when D is kidnapped. Now he must race against time, trust old enemies, and take big chances to save her. Luckily the year of practice and focus has honed his super powers. But will it be enough to save her?
This is my favorite series I have read in years. Each book will keep you at the edge of your seat while they make you laugh and cry. The characters are so real and understandable. Each compelling story will keep you turning page after page. IA: Union and the IA series is a must read book for all middle grade and young adult readers.
