Discover how easy it is to balance on top of the water. Our paddle boarding starter course is an excellent opportunity to learn the basic strokes and skills you'll need for maneuvering a paddle board, allowing you to explore scenic lakes, coves and inlets. They'll outfit you with a personal flotation device (PFD), paddle board and paddling equipment, giving you insight on the best ways to set up your board. You'll receive instruction on a variety of paddling strokes and have the opportunity to practice each stroke by the shore and much more! **Kids under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. This clas is also available today from 12:30 - 2:00

Discover the beauty of nature at night as you paddle through calm waters under the glow of the summer moon. On this leisurely excursion, you'll paddle comfortable, stable kayaks and get a chance to experience nature up close. After a short paddling demonstration, your experienced guide will lead you on a revealing tour, sharing interesting facts about the area's history and the surrounding landscape. No prior kayaking experience is needed. All necessary paddling equipment is provided.

Full Moon Hike-Experience the refuge in a exciting new way, at night! Enjoy a guided hike under the light of the full moon to visit nocturnal habitats that are home to owls, raccoons, opossums, and other wildlife that emerge after dark. Be there as the "night shift" awakens. Program begins at the Nature Center. Wear comfortable shoes, bug spray recommended. Hike is 1-1.5 miles.
