No Budget Halloween Costume ideas

Here are some great no budget Halloween costume ideas:

Mummy

This classic horror character is an easy costume to make. Start with an old white bed sheet. Cut it into strips 4 inches wide. For easy application you can sew multiple strips together, but make sure to have distinct strips for the body, each arm, leg, and head. Then simply wrap the strips around covering the body.

To prevent it from slipping, you can use safety pins to secure the wrappings at the top and bottom of each area. For extra fun, you can apply a little white, blue, gray, or green make-up.

Movie Room Floor

This clever costume is a crowdpleaser. Simply wear black sweatpants and a black sweatshirt. Then randomly decorate the outfit with empty, candy bar wrappers. To keep them secure for the night, you can use safety pins.

For extra fun, you can cut eye-holes into an old popcorn bucket and wear it like a helmet. (just make sure to wash it out good.)

If you are feeling really ambitious, you can string popcorn and wear it like a necklace.

Zombie

Possibly the easist and most fun costume for kids in a zombie. Start with some old clothes and cut holes in the them. They apply fake blood. Lots of fake blood. This can be made easilyby mixing the following in a blender:

• 8 ounces of water to a blender
• 16 ounces of powdered sugar
• 1 ounce of red food coloring
• 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

Minecraft

If your kids play Minecraft, they'll love this simple idea. With only a decorated square box, you can make an easy costume.

All you need to do is cut a hole in the bottom for their head, some eye holes to see, and decorate the box. Depending on the size of the box, you may need to secure some padding on the inside to keep it from shifting.

You can decorate it with any means at your disposal, such as paint or markers. One great way is to cut squares of colored paper and glue them to the box.

Charlie Brown Ghost

My personal favorite is the lovable ghost costume from Charlie Brown. All you need is a white bed sheet and some black fabric. Cut the black fabric into 3 inch ovals and sew them randomly onto the sheet. Cut some eye holes and your done.

Now every parent will laugh as your kid approaches their house.
