Is your pre-teen constantly tapping on the furniture? While learning to play the drums is fun and a great skill, it can get pretty loud. This course allows your child to explore the rhythmic side of music without you having to deal with the noise! In this educational and interactive percussion ensemble, the students will learn essential snare pad fundamentals with a focus on technique, and musical interaction. These techniques can then be transferred to hand percussion, or the drum set.

During the time of the course, we will collect items and fill up the journal with ideas and samples. Projects include: drawing, painting, collaging and 3-dimensional. We will talk about different artists and their approach to art. The goal of the workshop is to help the young artist to discover their own creativity and find pleasure applying it into artforms. Once the class is done, the student will have an art journal of their own!

Incorporating sewing and sculpting allows students to explore multiple methods of creating stop motion. The end result is a movie that students can share with friends and family!
