Exploring nature in a kayak is a healthy and fun way to enjoy the outdoors. Our course begins with a brief introduction and safety talk from our friendly paddling instructors, who will share their knowledge gained from years of kayaking. They'll outfit you with a personal flotation device (PFD), kayak and paddling equipment, giving you insight on the best ways to set up your boat.Then, you'll receive instruction on a variety of paddling techniques. ** KIds under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. This class is also available today from 1:00 - 2:30
Our Harvest Festivals create a Country Fair Atmosphere for your family to enjoy. We will have live music,Gem Mining Adventure, Corn maze, Animal farm and Discovery Barn Yard. Our Farm House Food Tent will be cooking up all of your favorites. Inside the market there are Cider Donuts, Pumpkin Pies, 5 kinds of Apple pies, Apple bread, cookies, lots of local apples, Caramel apples and Fresh Cider. Our Gift Shop is packed with all of your Fall decor needs. Don't Forget to stop by the Ice Cream widow for a Cider Slush or a Pumpkin Ice Cream! This festival will also be offered on Saturdays and will take place every weekend in September and October.
Archery is one of L.L.Bean's most popular Discovery Courses for adults and children, making it a great outing that everyone in your family will enjoy. After brief introductions and a safety talk, you'll receive helpful advice on the proper technique for correctly holding a bow and releasing an arrow for optimal accuracy and precision. With guidance and support from our friendly, expert instructors, you'll practice hitting targets with a recurve bow. **Kids under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Discover the beauty of nature at night as you paddle through calm waters under the glow of the summer moon. We believe a full moon enhances the beauty of these secluded waters and creates a truly memorable adventure. On this leisurely excursion, you'll paddle comfortable, stable kayaks and get a chance to experience nature up close. After a short paddling demonstration, your experienced guide will lead you on a revealing tour, sharing interesting facts about the area's history and the surrounding landscape. As the moon rises higher in the sky, you'll start to see the fascinating wildlife that emerges when the sun sets. We will stop along the way to view the full moon and enjoy a complementary snack.
A 45 minute barre class that offers a unique combination of ballet, Pilates, and overall fitness. It's a blend of grace and strength building movements that target the total body and leave you feeling long, lean, and strong. Improve your balance, core, strength, flexibility, and posture all while bonding with your little one! Bring a mat for class. Come and learn the wonderful craft of knitting. Kids will learn how to cast on, do garter stitch, and how to cast off a project. Many different stitches like ribbing or stocking stitch will be included in projects like scarves, doll blankets, and more.

Not to mention . . . parents get a chance to sit back, relax and enjoy a hot beverage for once. Teaching the wee ones is Sara O'Brien of Community Rocks! Classes suggested price is a $5 donation to Community Rocks, which supports local creative arts. There are also meal packages choices with yummy options like homemade scones or muffins, yogurt, lattes and more!
This cooking program is designed to teach kids about healthful eating. Children will learn how to make nutritional snacks and meals, using fresh garden vegetables as well as healthy alternatives to popular favorites. We will also learn to safely use knives, stove, oven and blender. Each child will earn a certificate of accomplishment and receive a book of recipes upon completion of the course.
Program begins inside the Nature Center for an up-close experience with our resident owls followed by a hike on the trail in search of our local species. Collingswood's annual Fall Festival will be held at the Pavilion in Knight Park (Park Avenue between Collings and Browning) on Saturday, October 22 (rain date of October 29).Come out and enjoy live music, a hayride throughout Knight Park, fall-themed games, and a variety of savory food. A chili contest will also be held, with winner to be announced at 3pm (winner to receive Collingswood Cash prize!) and all chilis available for purchase throughout the Festival.
Leave the leaf-peeping traffic behind and escape in a kayak where you can experience the vivid colors of fall's foliage from the water. After a short paddling demonstration, our expert instructors will lead you on an interpretive tour as you paddle our stable, solo kayaks. Our guides will share interesting facts about the area's history and surrounding wildlife. You'll also have the chance to see migrating waterfowl heading south, as well as fish feeding on the water's surface. We will stop along the way to enjoy a complementary snack.
