A scavenger hunt is a great way for those of all ages to learn about the foliage of the area while having fun. Aside from the natural items we will be looking for, we will also look for a few pieces of litter to clean up along the way. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy. WHERE TO MEET: From Route 72 East just past the circle, turn left into the park – it is signed. Follow signs for the office. We will meet in the office parking lot. WHAT TO BRING: Dress in layers of synthetic clothing and bring along water. You will want to bring a bag or a bucket and garden or rubber gloves. Our Fall Season continues with the unique experience of taking a Hayride to harvest Popcorn, Sweet Potatoes, Broccoli and Cauliflower! Hayriders pluck ears of popcorn from the stalk, dig handfuls of sweet potatoes from the soil, harvest Broccoli and Cauliflower to enjoy for their Thanksgiving diners. We give drying and cooking instructions for all of these crops. Who knew you could pop your own popcorn from the cob rather than popping a pre-packaged bag in your microwave? On weekends hayrides to pick will leave from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm every 15 minutes.
